Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of uppers, downers, laughers, screamers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon.

There's not much to say about this movie. The plot is not really important and could be summarized in some sentences. But the way they filmed and edited the film is cool and the actors are great. You don't recognize Johnny Depp as well as you do in other films and I only realized that the hitchhiker was Tobey Maguire because my boyfriend told me.
The movie is hard to describe. Maybe the two quotes can show you the mood of the film a bit. One is from the very beginning when they are driving to Las Vegas, one from their return trip. The stuff in between is just fun and being stoned. So if you haven't seen it yet watch it once, it's fun!

We had abused every rule that Vegas lived by -- burning the locals, abusing the tourists, terrifying the help. The only chance now, I felt, was the possibility that we'd gone to such excess that nobody in the position to bring the hammer down on us could possibility believe it.
